A new port from the original itinerary and we settled on a taxi tour with Nel and Cal, the watercolor instructors. A HAL tour was $135 each and Viator about the same. First the negotiation. Hamid started at 150 US. We turned for another driver and he comes down to $100 for four people for 4 hours. We agreed and I wrote it down on the port map. Very important in the negotiation process. Off we go to the Frankincense Museum and the All Balled Archaeological Park, after we inquired that Museum was open. Yes, of course. It wasn’t so after a walk around we wanted to buy frankincense so off to a close by souk. Did you know you burn the nuggets over a hot charcoal? And the creams are luscious. We then asked about the blow hole, another famous attraction. After that visit we had an hour and half of our four hours. Well Hamid wanted to get another fifty dollars to stop at the mall on the way back to the ship. We said no we would pay for 80 dollars for three hours and headed back to the ship. Ah, need to brush up on making deals in the Middle East. Should have said four hours and four stops. We didn’t mind a short port day. Back in time for lunch and then had time for Mahjong in our dedicated Mahjong room. Cal wanted to learn (quick study) and Don played along with Denise and me. The movie today is Death On The Nile. Lido for dinner and now another four sea days.
