Victoria, Mahe, Seychelles 11-10 &11 – 23

Victoria is noted as the smallest capital city in the world with 10,000 people in the city and 100,000 people in the entire mass of 115 islands, called the Seychelles.  A lush tropical rainforest climate with the heat and humidity to melt this traveler. Joel was our guide and driver in the air-conditioned van, as guests of Brian and Sandy, our friends from the 2019 world cruise. We were able to see the entire island with our eight hour excursion.  Note to James B, we found the powdered vanilla. As I write the blog I want to acknowledge Holland American Line for their moving tribute today, a sea day, for Veteran’s Day, Remembrance Day and Armistice Day.  We were all given a poppy to wear. The master of the ceremony was our Captain Freher.

We are the dead. Short days ago we lived. Felt dawn, saw sunset glow. Loved and we were loved, and we lie in Flanders field.
