Geography Lesson

 

 A geography lesson for me as prior to this cruise Africa was just one big continent. 

We leave Fort Lauderdale and sail across the Atlantic, to first Portugal and then the Canary Islands. On to Morocco before passing through the Strait of Gibraltar to Tunis on the north of Africa and then Souda and Cyprus, Greece on the Mediterranean Sea. Then we sail through the Suez Canal to Safaga, Egypt and back up to 'Aqabah Jordan.  From there we sail the Gulf of Aden and the Arabian Sea to the islands of Seychelles and Mamoudzou in the Indian Ocean with a stop in Tanzania on the eastern coast of Africa.  Back across the Indian Ocean to the island of Madagascar and then we go down the coast of eastern Africa to Mozambique before arriving to Durban and Cape Town in South Africa.  We complete our circumnavigation heading north on the western side of Africa with ports in Namibia, Angola, Ghana, Ivory Coast, The Gambia and Senegal.  Heading back across the North Atlantic we stop in Cape Verde and then Puerto Rico and back to Fort Lauderdale. No international flights to maneuver.
